Student Information

The Big Event is a day of service where Virginia Tech students, faculty, and staff complete service projects in the New River Valley to thank the community for their support throughout the year. Students are welcome to volunteer individually or in groups. The Big Event will be held on April 18, 2009. The jobs typically last between 3 and 4 hours and range from painting to yard work to trash pickup. Last year over 3,500 students volunteered, and this year we are hoping for even more.

Student organizations and individuals can register to participate in the Big Event 2009 by clicking on the Online Signup tab. Registration will open on Feburary 1, 2009.
