The Big Event is a day of service where Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff complete service projects in the New River Valley to thank the community for their support throughout the year. All residents of the New River Valley are welcome to participate in the event which will be held on April 18, 2009. Jobs should last about 3 to 4 hours and cannot require power tools. Jobs in the past have ranged from painting to yard work to trash pickup.
